All thing everything Gem Biscuit

For me, eating or seeing a gem biscuit transports me back to a much simpler time where all I had to worry about was "how long more till mama come and fetch me", or "whose block we going to play block catching". Such times seem so far away but every now and then, I catch a glimpse of it and oh how I wish those moments would last.

The very first memory I had with gem biscuits was having them in kindergarten when it was either snack break or meal time, and the teachers would give us a bunch of gem biscuits on this dusty blue melamine saucer, together with hot diluted milo in a matching cup.

Eating the gem biscuit was some sort of a ritual; gently biting off the top sugary goodness with just my front teeth, pressing it to the roof of my mouth and rolling it around in circles like a play-doh, savouring the sweetness while it slowly dissolves, and finally dunking the remaining bottom half in the milo before popping it into my mouth!
