I learnt from my mom to tell the difference by looking at the top of the kueh: if there's a dark patch, it's peanut and if there isn't, it's mung bean. And every single time we get Ang Ku Kueh, it's like a blind box! And I would refuse to eat it if there wasn't a dark patch...
